Az Országos Műemléki Felügyelőség1971-ben végzett ásatásokat az Árpád kori templomnál.
Jelentése szerint:
"1971. május 10-25 között ásatást és falkutatatást végeztünk Telekiben, a r.k.templomban, mely a falu melletti magas dombon épült, és most körülötte temető van. A kutatásra a templom műemléki helyreállítását megelőzően került sor, a Mendele Ferencné által 1970-ben végzett kutatás folytatásaként, illetve kiegészítéseként.
Történeti források:
A község neve az 1211-es tihanyi összeírásban szerepel először. A Tihanyi Apátság birtoka. Legalább 7 háznépet említ az oklevél, kb. 50 lélekszámmal.
1229-ben a székesfehérvári káptalannak voltak itt birtokai, 1265-ben IV. Béla a helység egy részét az esztergomi János lovagoknak adta. Az 1267-es pápai bulla "Teleky prediumnak nevezi.
1271-ben Szent András tiszteletére szentelt templomát említik. A XIV. században bérebeadták és így is maradt 1429-ig, amikor egy nagy per folyt a birtokosok között. Garai nádor megítélte a birtokos társak részére Teleki falu felosztását. Ebben az oklevélben említik, hogy a fejérvári káptalan szőlőjének egyik haszonélvezője Teleki falu, Szent András apostol tiszteletére épült egyháza.
A templom előtt volt a plébános kuriája, vagyis udvara és háza. A Teleki egyház papját 1332-33-as pápai tizedjegyzék is említi.
1480-ban a nyulszigeti apácáknak és a tihanyi apátságnak voltak itt birtokai. 1534-ben Török Bálinté a falu, 9 lakott és 4 puszta birtokával. 1536-ban Török Bálintnak 2, a fejérvári káptalannak 8, Kálócz Péternek 5 házát említik.
1557-ben 1, 1564-ben 2 porta Magyar Bálint birtokában van, török hódoltságban.
1563-ban a török kincstári fejadó jegyzékbe csak 6 házzal, az 1573-ban 14 házzal van felvéve.
Különféle birtokosai voltak: 1583-ban fejérvári káptalannak 1 portája van itt, 1585-ben a tihanyi urbarium 10 jobbágyat említ.
1526/27 es adólajstrom szerint Teleki 1 és negyed portával a tihanyi apátságé.
1645-ben 10 egész helyet, 8 és fél helyet, 2 zsellér portát említenek1680-ban 8 lakott háza volt.
1715-ben 7 háztartást írtak össze, benne 1726-ban a tihanyi apátság birtoka volt.
A felsorolt adatok többnyire a faluról tesznek melítést, a templomról szűkszavúan beszélnek. A török harcok során elpusztulhatott, mert adataink szerint 1750-ben Lécs Ágoston pannonhalmi apát újjáépíttette. 1843-ban renoválták, majd az 1900-as évek elején történt az újabb átalakítása, tatarozása.
Ekkor építették a nyugati oldal elé a nyitott előcsarnokot, miután a déli kaput befalazták, és a nyugati oldalon új kaput nyitottak."
